The Adult treatment sub group exists to give the local community a voice in how the treatment system for drug / alcohol users is improved and further developed as well giving members time to share their own work, exchange information and network with each other.

Agencies and groups represented include Drug and Alcohol Services, Service Users, GPs, Housing Services, Substance Misuse Team, Carers, Probation, Voluntary Sector, Police. Anybody with an interest is always more than welcome to attend.

The group has a terms of reference describing why it meets and records or ‘minutes’ are kept summarising each meeting and any action that was agreed to be taken forward by the group

The meeting through consultation and discussion and self assessment informs the annual Treatment Plan which describes local priorities and need; what is going to be done as well as how the Substance Misuse Team's budget will be spent each year based on local priorities and need. This is supported by a Strategic Summary. The National Treatment Agency provides Quarterly progress reports which help the Substance Misuse Team and the sub-group review what is being done well and areas that need more development.
