To better endorse the importance of looking after the community and generations, Safer Communities has developed a scheme alongside the junior street wardens. The idea behind this proposal is to pair up junior street wardens with local elderly residents to help tend to their gardens. Many elderly residents take great pleasures in their gardens yet may find themselves less mobile and unable to look after them. By encouraging local youths to help, they will hopefully not only need the assistance of the older people’s knowledge but also build on social understanding.
This project is in conjunction with the street warden team. As a result, is heavily supported from Torbay Council. Many of the local PCSO’s for the neighbourhoods will also be involved to ensure that all parties receive the guidance they require.
