I'm being abused by my partner

Worried that someone will see you looking at this website? Click the ‘leave this site’ button if you need to.

Remember that computers store information about websites visited. The safest way to make sure your abuser doesn’t see what you’ve accessed is to use a computer away from home – at the library, an internet café, work, or a friend’s house. Find out how to cover your tracks on your own computer by visiting The Hideout website.

If you’re being abused by your partner and you’re reading this webpage you’ve already taken an important step. Domestic abuse can take many forms including physical, sexual, psychological or financial abuse. Domestic abuse is often very controlling and manipulative. Not all victims of domestic abuse are women; many victims are men and children.

Even though it may feel like it, you are not alone and no matter what your circumstances, there are organisations and people that can help you. At least 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence in their lifetime and between 1 in 8 and 1 in 10 women experience it annually.Less than half of all incidents are reported to the police, but they still receive one domestic violencecall every minute in the UK.
