Safer Communities Torbay launches new website!

With more focus than ever on communicating via digital media it is imperative that public sector organisations are keeping up with the ever-changing face of information technology. Here at Safer Communities Torbay we pride ourselves on communicating everything we do back to our communities, ensuring that our residents feel informed about the good work that is going on behind the scenes to enhance everyone's quality of life for the better.

With that in mind we felt it necessary to update our website, making it more interactive and much easier to navigate. The new site represents much more than just a redesign though, it required a major rethink of how Safer Communities Torbay can better support the communities we serve and how it can best meet its objectives.

Improvements include clearer navigation, improved search capabilities and a much clearer design. The new site has improved coding quality and meets the required accessibility standards and includes support for RSS feeds (a method of delivering web content to users that does not necessarily require a web browser) and provides the latest news from Safer Communities Torbay.

The development of the website isn't going to stop here. In the near future there are plans to incorporate information from the Police (Local Policing Teams) and NHS Choices (health advice and information) and more about the projects we are working on in response to the priorities raised by our residents at our annual consultation events across the bay.

We hope that the improvements will encourage the community's interaction with the partnership and provide a clear channel for us to feedback on all the great work that we are carrying out across Torbay.

We would very much like your feedback on what we have done so far and suggestions for changes you would like to see going forward. You can view the new site at www.safercommunitiestorbay.org.uk and let us know what you think via email scatt@torbay.gov.uk - we're sure you won't be disappointed!
