You Said We DidIssues raised:

  • Anti-social driving on Barton Avenue
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Drug issues

Actions taken:

  • Anti-social driving was raised as a concern in this area and in response to this a dedicated Police traffic operation (Operation Hawkshead) was set up with ongoing success across Torbay (see Supporting Documents).
  • Increased Police patrols and problem solving activities using a multi-agency approach were carried out for a number of weeks in the top three areas around Foxhole and Queen Elizabeth Drive that were highlighted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team as areas for anti-social behaviour.
  • CCTV camera installed in Queen Elizabeth Drive.
  • Operation Staysafe was carried out in the area. This is a multi-agency operation involving Youth Workers, Police, and Drug & Alcohol Workers, where young people who may be at risk through alcohol misuse or who are engaging in anti-social behaviour are taken off the street to a safe place while their parents are contacted and spoken to. Parents are also signposted to services that can provide advice and support to deal with any issues raised.

Four warrants were executed in the area as part of the Police Operation Fundamental (see Supporting Documents).
